Double Take Dance Excerpt from Pando Contemporary dance exploring the connection between beings, and how it affects our ability to thrive on Earth. Pando is Latin for spread out, and also is a clonal colony of a single male quaking aspen. An intricate kaleidoscope, using the dancers bodies and timing as a never ending thread based on the quaking aspen forest being a single living organism connected by one massive underground root system. The way in which we live can either serve one or serve all… we are all one connected entity. Using the means of contemporary athletic and technical movement set to both music and sound, we want to bring awareness to our sense of community (or lack thereof) and how our actions have a direct effect on us. We are all part of one system.
