What we collect
When you sign in to TheaterMap.nyc, we receive basic profile information from your chosen sign-in provider (Google, Facebook, Apple, or Microsoft). This includes your:
- Name
- Email address
- Profile photo (where provided by your sign-in provider)
If you create a native account with an email and password, we store your email address, name, and a bcrypt hash of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
We also store the show tracking data you create — shows you have marked as seen, want to see, or are not interested in.
How we use it
- To identify you when you sign in
- To save and display your show tracking preferences
- To display your name in the app
We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for advertising, or use it for any purpose other than operating this service.
Third-party sign-in providers
When you sign in via Google, Facebook, Apple, or Microsoft, your browser communicates with that provider directly. We only receive the profile data listed above. We do not receive your password from these providers, and we cannot post to your accounts or access data beyond what is needed for sign-in.

Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is essential to the operation of the site and is not used for tracking or advertising.
Data retention
Your account and associated data are retained for as long as your account exists. If you request deletion, we will remove your account and all associated data within 30 days.
Your rights & data deletion
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at alan@belmore.co.uk with the subject line Data Deletion Request. We will process your request within 30 days.
