Think Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) meets Eva Gabor (Green Acres) and that’s sums up Joe Fox’s wild toad ride of a journey when he played it “straight” in the Lobster State of Maine – to make a documentary on a same-sex marriage referendum battle that took place in that state. Framed around our fight to marry the ones we love is the not so back story of an adopted son of an Orthodox Rabbi (that would be Joe) and his lifelong search for family, love, acceptance and that elusive rainbow connection.
